Baptisms
We would be delighted to welcome anyone who wishes to receive baptism. We offer baptism to young children and to people of any age and background.
Baptism is a sign of welcome to God’s family and a celebration of our identity as children of God. It also offers a wonderful opportunity for friends and family to come together to mark the start of an exciting journey of discovery and faith along with the wider community of the church. It’s important to recognise that within the baptismal ceremony the appropriate adults profess their own faith and where children are involved, promise to give the child a Christian upbringing.
In situations where there is a desire to give thanks for a child but a feeling that you would not be able to agree the promises linked with baptism, it is possible to bring a child forward and give God thanks. The blessing would take place during Sunday worship and whilst the ceremony would be similar to that for baptism, the wording and promises are different, and no water is used.
If you would like to take forward an enquiry regarding baptism or an alternative act of thanksgiving, please contact our minister on 07305 819426.
Weddings
Church is a wonderful place to hold your wedding ceremony. We believe that Christian marriage is a union between a man and a woman and if you are looking for a deeply personal marriage ceremony where a lifelong commitment is made before family, friends and God, then Craigowl Church might be the right place for you.
As a first step, you are required to speak with our minister. Thereafter, this initial contact will be followed up with an ‘in-person’ meeting designed to strengthen and prepare you for a strong Christ-like relationship in marriage. In the course of the initial enquiry further information can be provided.

Funerals
We recognise that bereavement is a difficult time for everyone. If you are a member of Craigowl Church, or live within the Parish, you can call upon the minister to conduct a funeral. You are welcome to contact us directly, although it would be normal for the Funeral Director to act as a link between you and the minister, especially with regard to the preliminary enquiry around the minister’s availability.
Following notification of the bereavement, the minister will meet with you to provide pastoral support and discuss the content of the funeral service. If required, it may be possible to make the church sanctuary available for a Christian funeral service.
If you would like to notify a bereavement and take forward an enquiry regarding a funeral service, please contact our minister on 07305 819426.
